Student using Blackboard Learn cannot see feedback returned to the Grade Center
After returning feedback and grades to the Blackboard Learn Grade Center, instructors may hear from students that they "cannot retrieve their feedback" and that their submission remains ungraded.
This might occur because students made multiple submissions to Blackboard.
The feedback/grade from Waypoint has connected to one of the 'attempts' in Blackboard. But Blackboard is expecting the instructor to grade the other attempts before showing the student the feedback/grade.
If this is the case, you can resolve by:
- Visiting the Grade Center in Bb
- Clicking the down arrow next to the '!' for a given student and a given assignment (notice that you can see multiple attempts) and choosing View Grade Details
- Click Clear Attempt for any of the attempts marked Needs Grading. Leave the one with your Waypoint feedback and grade. Make sure the grade displayed is consistent with your wishes/intentions. Click Edit Grade to change it.
Now students will see the specific feedback you intended...and the grade.
They can also always visit Waypoint directly to see any and all of their submissions, plus grades and feedback - regardless of the course or assignment.
