
Creating & Maintaining Your Personal Comment Library
In Waypoint, you are able to insert comments directly into a student's document during assessment. These comments can be created during assessment or accessed from the Global Comment Library: a library created and maintained by your organization. Over time, you can save new comments or copies of Global Comments into your own Personal Library.
Creating Personal Library Comments
- Log into Waypoint
- Click on the Engage tab
- Open up the grading screen (where the Assignment rubric is displayed)
- If the Begin Grading button is available, click it
- If the Begin Grading button is unavailable
- Click on the Show Roster button to open a list of students
- Click on Grade next to a student’s name
- Click on the “Comment Library” tab on the left side of the screen
- Click Add
- Input feedback text into the Add Comment text box
- Input tags into the Tags text box
- Tags can contain spaces
- Use the Tab or Enter key to finalize a tag
- Click the Add button to save the comment and return to the previous screen
During Assessment
- Highlight text on the student document
- The comment text box opens
- Type the feedback you wish to add
- Click the Add button to open the Comment Library
- Modify the feedback text if need be and add appropriate tags
- Click on the Add button to save the new comment to your Personal Comment Library
Editing Personal Library Comments
- Log into Waypoint
- Click on the Engage tab
- Open up the grading screen (where the Assignment rubric is displayed)
- If the Begin Grading button is available, click it
- If the Begin Grading button is unavailable
- Click on the Show Roster button to open a list of students
- Click on Grade next to a student’s name
- Click on the Comment Library tab on the left side of the screen
- Search for the comment you wish to edit, searching by feedback text or tag(s)
- Once the comment is visible, click on the Edit button
- Select the comment you wish to edit from the Matching Comments list
- On the following screen, make adjustments to the comment feedback text or tags you see fit
- If it is a Global Comment, you will not be able to make any changes
- Click on the Update button to save your changes
Deleting Personal Library Comments
- Log into Waypoint
- Click on the Engage tab
- Open up the grading screen (where the Assignment rubric is displayed)
- If the Begin Grading button is available, click it
- If the Begin Grading button is unavailable
- Click on the Show Roster button to open a list of students
- Click on Grade next to a student’s name
- Locate the Comment Library tab on the left side of the screen (next to the Assignment rubric) and click on Comment Library
- Search for the comment you wish to delete, searching by feedback text or tag(s)
- Once the comment is visible, click on the Edit button. Doing so will prompt you to select the comment you want to edit – click on it from the list
- On the following screen click on the Delete button
- Click Confirm Delete to remove the comment from the Library
