Accessing Waypoint 2 from Blackboard Learn
To access Waypoint from Blackboard Learn, first log into your course. Under Control Panel click on Course Tools.
From the options, clicking on Grade in Waypoint will automatically open Waypoint 2 in a new tab in your web browser. If you are an instructor, you will be brought to the Evaluations page where you will be able to assess student work.
If you are a Waypoint administrator and your only goal is to manage rubrics, then you should click on Manage Waypoint Rubrics. This will take you directly the the Rubrics tab where you will be able to create, share, and manage rubrics.
Depending on your user account’s role, once in Waypoint 2 you will also be able to do the following:
- Create Rubrics
- Manage Courses
- Assess Student Work
- View Analytics

If you access the Control Panel under Course Tools and Grade in Waypoint and/or Manage Waypoint Rubrics is NOT present, you will need to verify that the tools have been enabled for your course.
To access the course tool availability options, first log into your course. Under Control Panel click on Customization. From the options, click on Tool Availability. Locate the tools "Waypoint Assignments" and "Waypoint Outcomes Connector". Ensure that the check boxes under "Available in Content Area" and "Available" are selected.
If you are a Waypoint Administrator and want to ensure that these links and options are on for ALL users at your institution, log in to Blackboard as an Administrator. Under the System Admin tab click Building Blocks. From the options, click on Installed Tools. Locate the "Waypoint Outcomes Connector" and ensure "Available" is selected for both "Availability" and "Course/Org Default".
